A pet-safe favorite with vibrant lime-green leaves marked with dark green spots and red veins. The Lemon Lime Prayer Plant folds its leaves up at night like hands in prayer — a charming, low-light-tolerant houseplant.
Light
Medium to bright indirect light brings out the brightest leaf color. It tolerates lower light but the markings fade and growth slows.
No direct sun — it scorches the tender leaves and bleaches the color.
Water
Keep the soil lightly moist but not soggy. Prayer plants dislike drying out completely, but they rot just as fast in standing water.
Use filtered or left-out water — they're sensitive to fluoride and chlorine in tap water, which browns the leaf tips.
Soil & pot
A light, well-draining, peaty mix holds the moisture they like while still draining. A drainage hole is essential.
Humidity & temperature
Prayer plants love humidity — 50% or higher keeps the leaves crisp and lush. Brown, curling edges mean the air's too dry; a pebble tray or humidifier fixes it fast.
Keep it 65–80°F and away from cold drafts and heating vents.
Propagation
Take a stem cutting just below a node with at least one leaf, root it in water or sphagnum, and pot it up once roots are a couple inches long. They root readily.
